Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions:

What information do I need to provide to get started?

You’ll need a variety of clear photos of your pet and a description of a place that was special to you both. Photos of the location are helpful but not essential. A written description is enough to begin.

What kind of photos work best?

Good-quality photos showing different angles (sides, front, back) help capture your pet’s shape and personality, but your pet doesn’t need to be perfectly posed.

Can you work from old or limited photos?

Yes. Many memorial illustrations are created from older or fewer photos. I’ll work carefully with what you have and guide you if anything else would help.

Do you include the pet’s face in the illustration?

Many illustrations are created from a behind or side-on view, focusing on presence and place rather than a front-facing portrait. This helps create a calm, reflective feeling but I’m always happy to discuss what feels right for you.

Process & Timing:

How long does a custom illustration take?

Please allow approximately 3-4 weeks from initial discussion to delivery within the UK. This includes illustration time, printing and postage.

Can I request changes to the artwork?

Yes. You’ll be able to review the illustration before it’s printed. Small refinements can be made to ensure everything feels right.

How many commissions do you take on at once?

I take on a limited number of commissions at any one time to ensure each illustration receives the care and attention it deserves.

Pricing & Ordering:

How much does a custom pet illustration cost?

Prices start from £250 for a single pet A3 fine art print. Pricing varies depending on the number of pets and complexity of the illustration.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A £100 deposit secures your commission, with the remaining balance due once the illustration is approved and before printing.

What size is the finished artwork?

Illustrations are supplied as unframed A3 giclée prints, ready for you to frame in a style that suits your space.

Do you create pet memorial illustrations?

Yes. Memorial illustrations are created with care and sensitivity, focusing on your pet’s favourite peaceful place and the memories you shared together.

Is there a right time to commission a memorial illustration?

There’s no right or wrong time. Some people choose to commission soon after a loss, while others wait - whatever feels right for you.
